Since many lessons are online, here’s a list of things it would be helpful for you to do before your lesson.
#1 Write EVERY measure number in all the repertoire you are currently working on
#2 Have a pencil and eraser within reach
#3 Find your green “Parent’s Guide to Effective Practicing” or black “Piano Student’s Guide to Effective Practicing” and have it within reach
#4 Have your last Assignment Sheet from your notebook within reach
#5 If possible, please use a tablet, iPad, notebook, or computer. I have found the sound I am hearing is better than from a phone, which is geared toward short sounds, like speech
#6 Be sure your chosen device is fully charged or plugged in so the lesson is not interrupted by a dead battery :-)
#7 If possible, position the camera so the keyboard and the student’s face are in the view; try shooting from near the end of the piano
Since you cannot use my computer lab for your computer time, check out my Online Resources and do a practice test or a Google Form Quiz to practice theory.
